The part no one prepared you for
The compliments, milestones, or medical wins can be real - and you can still feel unfamiliar to yourself.
Being seen can feel vulnerable when desire, confidence, relationships, and body image are all shifting at once.
You do not need another demand to feel grateful. You need room to tell the truth and rebuild from there.
A specialty built for the after
You can reach the goal and still wonder, Now who am I?
Major weight loss and body change can affect how you move through the world, how others respond to you, and how safe it feels to be seen. Therapy gives you a place to make sense of the aftermath without minimizing the progress you have made.
The After Identity Gap™ describes the space between what changed on the outside and what has not yet integrated on the inside. It can show up as feeling unfamiliar to yourself, disconnected from your body, or unsure how to live inside the life you worked so hard to build.
Together, we can work toward a relationship with your body, sexuality, and sense of self that belongs to you - not to the scale, the mirror, or anyone else's expectations.
Meet your therapist

I'm Dr. Victoria Panna aka Dr. V. I help those rebuilding make sense of what happened after the change everyone else thought would solve everything.
My style is conversational, candid, and deeply human. We can name the hard thing without turning you into a diagnosis or asking you to perform positivity. The work is thoughtful and practical: we look at the patterns beneath the pain, then build choices that feel more like you.
I bring clinical expertise in sexuality, relationships, body image, and identity - with special attention to the complicated emotional life that can follow major weight loss.

For over 8 years, Parker was my beloved honorary Co-Teacher and Co-Therapist.
His quiet gift was presence. He knew when to come close, when to simply stay, and how to make a hard moment feel a little less lonely. He helped students and clients remember that safety, trust, and healing often begin before language.
Though Parker is no longer beside me, the gentleness he brought into every room remains part of how I teach, how I practice, and how I care. He will always be part of Panna Counseling.
